Welcome to School District of Onalaska Transportation. We work with Go RiteWay to transport our students safely. Please follow the steps below to become a bus rider:

Bus Agreement

Bus Agreement for SUMMER 2026

Bus Agreement for the 2026-2027 School Year

We must have at least 3 business days to add students to a route. In some cases it might be ready sooner. Please plan accordingly to transport your child(ren) until you receive your new bus information.

If you have questions regarding this process, eligibility, or general information, contact the Transportation Department or go our eligibility guidelines.

All students must have a new Bus Agreement each year, and for the Summer School busing program.

Bus Badges

All regular education including Pre-K and Private School students are required to show and swipe their Bus Badges upon loading and unloading. Bus Badges are issued to new riders automatically, and are used from year to year.

OHS students may use their student ID to swipe on and off the bus, or the Here Comes the Bus app.

If you need a new Bus Badge please use our online form to make your request.

Step 2

Bus Route

Once you've received the emailed notice that your child(ren) are set up for busing, please carefully review the information with your bus riders and follow instructions to access bus route and time information.

Log into eLink to get your bus information. This is live information that may change, so we recommend checking on Sunday evenings.

Go to https://students.goriteway.com/onalaskarp
Username is any student’s Student ID number in your family
Password is the Home Phone Number as entered into PowerSchool – numbers only. Ex: 5551234567
Click on the STUDENTS tab, then VIEW MY STUDENTS to display any students with matching Family ID
Click on the name of the student to view detailed routing information

Step 3

Here Comes the Bus!

Once routing is ready you'll get an email with instructions to move forward with transportation.

If you haven't already, create your Here Comes the Bus account. It will show you each morning when your bus will arrive via the bus GPS. Here Comes the Bus will NOT give you route schedules - it is only meant as a way for you to see each day when the bus is coming.

Download the Here Comes the Bus app* or visit herecomesthebus.com
Click the SIGN UP button
Enter school code (29513) and click “Next” followed by “Confirm”
Complete the “User Profile” box
Under “My Students,” click “Add.” Enter your child’s last name and student ID number (if you're not sure of the ID number please contact the school).
Once you confirm your information, you’re ready to begin using Here Comes the Bus!
