Please follow these steps if you: Have a student is currently attending the School District of Onalaska and need to enroll a new student that will attend one of our schools for the first time next school year.
Please note: If you are an open enrolled family, you will need to first apply for open enrollment for your new student. Open enrollment needs to be completed for every student. You will not need to re-open enroll your current student. If you need to open enroll your student, you can learn more about that process on our open enrollment section.
Step 1: Gain access to your new Skyward Family Access account
- The School District of Onalaska is transitioning to a new student information system for the 2026-27 school year. Because of this, you will need to gain access to your account in Skyward, our new software.
- Visit Skyward Family Access.
- Click "Forgot your Username or Password?"
- Enter the email that would be associated with your current Powerschool account to reset your password. You should receive an email from Skyward.
- Reset your password and login.
Step 2: Access the New Student Enrollment 2026-27 form
- Once logged in, click on the down arrow next to the home icon.
- Click on "New Student Enrollment."
Step 3: Complete the online enrollment form
- Complete the enrollment form following each step as described.
- Please note: This is our first year using this new online enrollment system. As part of this transition, our elementary school boundaries are not yet built into the form to automatically assign a school based on your home address. Because of this, 4K - Grade 5 families will select a general "Onalaska Elementary Schools" location at the beginning of the form. District staff will thoroughly review each submission and update each student's school based on their home address. Please also know that while this is a new system, you DO NOT need to re-enroll any currently enrolled students. You only need to enroll children who will be brand new to the School District of Onalaska for the 2026-27 school year. If you have any questions on this process, please reach out to our Student Services Department.
- In addition, you will need to submit a few additional documents prior to completing enrollment:
- Student current immunizations as required by the state of Wisconsin.
- Birth certificate to verify student date of birth and legal name.
- Proof of residency to verify your primary residence. This does not need to feature the student's name.
- If you are unable to submit any of these documents electronically, you may also drop off, fax, or mail it to our district offices.
- Mailing address: 237 2nd Ave S, Onalaska, WI 54650
- Fax number: 608.783.4929
