2025 Wall of Excellence Inductee Announced

The Onalaska High School Alumni Association and School District of Onalaska are proud to announce the next Wall of Excellence inductee is Beverly (Holthaus) Stuhr, Onalaska High School Class of 1943.

About Beverly (Holthaus) Stuhr:
Beverly graduated as valedictorian of her Class of 1943 and went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from UW-Madison. Her professional career began at Onalaska High School where she served as the district’s bookkeeper and business manager. Later, she held the role of Controller at Gundersen Clinic (now Emplify Health), where she oversaw accounting and financial operations during a key period in the organization’s regional expansion. In recognition of her work, Gundersen established the “Beverly Stuhr Excellence in Administration Fund” upon her retirement. 


Beyond her career, Beverly was deeply involved in her community. She served as president of Great Rivers United Way, was a charter member of the Onalaska Historical Society, and was so impactful at the La Crosse County Library, she was eventually named their “Volunteer of the Year.” She was also active in her church, taking part in numerous committees and boards as well as Sunday school, confirmation, and choir. Beverly passed away in 2020, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, learning, and a love for Onalaska.  

Induction Ceremony:
The Alumni Association will hold an induction ceremony on Friday, October 10 at the Onalaska High School LMC. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. with the program beginning at 6 p.m. There will also be an additional recognition during halftime of the homecoming football game that evening. 

About the Wall of Excellence:
The Wall of Excellence was established in 2008 through the support and partnership of the Onalaska High School Alumni Association and the School District of Onalaska. The distinguished individuals who are inducted on to the wall represent those who have made a difference in the school, in the community, and beyond.
