Welcome from the Superintendent

All students can learn; all students want to learn. This guiding principle has shaped my work in education from day one. I began my career as a high school health and physical education teacher in the Twin Cities, where I also coached wrestling, football, and track. Those early experiences taught me that true success doesn’t belong to any one individual. It’s built through teamwork, shared purpose, and the commitment of an entire community.

Now, as Superintendent of the School District of Onalaska, I bring that same team-centered mindset to this new chapter. I see my role much like that of a coach: not to stand in the spotlight, but to bring people together, build strong relationships, and create an environment where everyone - students, staff, and families - can thrive. Over the past 13 years in school district leadership, I’ve seen the incredible things that happen when we work together with focus, empathy, and a shared belief in what’s possible.

I am excited and honored to join the Onalaska community. This district has a strong reputation for academic excellence, student-centered innovation, and a deep commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all. Together, we will build on that foundation to ensure every student receives personalized support and every voice is valued in our journey forward. We believe in continuous growth: Today is great; tomorrow can be a little bit better.

Public education is one of the most meaningful responsibilities we share as a community. I am humbled to serve alongside a talented and dedicated team here in Onalaska, and I look forward to partnering with you as we support every student in reaching their full potential in a rapidly changing world.
